Daddy
You've guided me through so much in life
You've always offered a helping hand
You're there in health and there in strife
You're always my biggest, best fan
You show me what to do and where
When I try to fix my car
You tell me I should cut my hair
Whether I'm near or far
You let me learn from my mistakes
You scolded me for lying
The more candles on my birthday cakes
The more I saw you trying
You helped me mature beyond my years
But stay close to my roots
You've carried me through childish fears
Showed me how to spitshine boots
And here, when all is said and done
There's one thought to be had
I don't care if this is not much fun
But I really miss my dad.
