Minds
I blow you a kiss goodbye
As your taillights fade into the distance
I let out a quiet sigh
And pray that the slump doesn't show in my stance
It's so difficult to watch you from so far away
Knowing you're watching me too
Racking my brain for some time or some way
For a long conversation with you
There are so many subjects that we have in common
There's so much that I'd love to say
But politics are draining my barrel to its bottom
And there are only so many hours in the day
Someday we will find ourselves with time on our hands
And free of human distractions
Then my attention will be at your command
Without fear of disciplinary actions
So if you've got the brains, I've got the vocabulary
Numbers and politics can take a backseat
We'll curl up and talk of where our thoughts carry
And see what happens when two like minds meet.
