Synopsis:  Rope cuffs that only require the sliding of a plastic piece to open and close the restraints.  Available in wrist and ankle sizes.

    Having spent too many years trying to ‘make do’ with homemade restraints found around the house, Ranger and I decided to splurge a bit and take a mini-plunge into the huge bondage market with these inexpensive cuffs.  We weren’t disappointed in our decision.

     To begin with, the cuffs are designed for ease of use.  I can easily let myself out of the cuffs if necessary, but they are strong enough to hold through the best of play struggles.

     Rope can often be abrasive or painful, something bondage beginners don’t always appreciate.  These are soft, silky, and braided, making them easy on the skin and safe for repeated play.  No worries about lingering marks or accidental skin breakage here.  The softness also helps counter the sheer strength of the ropes and provides a nice break from the stereotypical restraint, hard metal handcuffs.

     At first, Ranger was using the cuffs simply to hold my hands together and give my ankles something to FEEL on me.  The ankle cuffs limit the distance your legs can be spread but not by so far that nothing gets done.  The wrist cuffs leave just enough space between them that a couple could use them around a lodgepole pine bed post and still be comfortable, but just barely.  Once we became comfortable with the length and feel of the ropes, Ranger began experimenting with different ways to use the cuffs.  Now one of his favorite things is to use the wrist cuffs behind my back while I’m laying on my stomach and then threading the ankle cuffs through them, effectively hogtying me without forcing me into horribly painful positions.  The uses of these are only limited by one’s imagination.

     These ropes have been a part of our bondage play for quite some time now, and are in no danger of being replaced.  Compared to many other styles of restraint, these are easy to take along (no metal parts makes airport security easy as well) and require no preparation to use.  Even as we expand our collection of restraints, these are among the most used of all.

    Perfect for the couple interested in light bondage play with the secure knowledge of the held being able to free themselves quickly should they so choose, these cuffs will also be a welcome addition in elaborate dungeons as well.  Versatile and fun, Japanese rope cuffs will be a perennial favorite in many a household.
