Synopsis:  A website designed to educate and inform about sexuality and all that goes with it.  Topics range from sexual politics to birth control to the basics of the birds and bees.

We are seeing an epidemic of misinformed teenagers entering adulthood unprepared and unaware of anything but the politically swayed arguments presented in segregated classrooms.  Too many important issues are not only underrepresented but completely ignored; teachers are not being allowed to teach anything but abstinence.  Let’s face it, though; kids are not abstaining.

Scarleteen is a sex positive site that holds back nothing from its presentation of sex, reproduction, diseases, and emotional issues surrounding sex.  Tolerance of all sexual preferences and choices is key, and encouraging celibacy until one is fully prepared for sex in all manners is a welcome undertone.

This is one resource that is invaluable, not only for young adults and their parents or guardians, but also for everyone whose sexual education was limited to half an afternoon in a 4th grade classroom or a ten minute talk from either parent.  Everyone can learn something here.
